College diet

I’m sorry if this is a dumb question but… Is it okay that vegetables/fiber are lacking in this diet? I’ve tried something similar before, and while I could still poop, it wasn’t anywhere near as easy or clean as when I ate GREEN veggies (that were NOT lettuce). Did I fuck up or what? Tuna, black beans, peanut butter, Greek yogurt: all cheap and high in nutritional value. Be aware college campus grocery stores and convenience stores hike up prices immensely so avoid those for saving money. Not sure where you live but find an Aldi or something of equivalence (I’m from Pittsburgh). For supplements, buying online is usually the cheapest option. I just realized I got all of these items super cheap at Costco this past week. May not be as practical to get all your groceries there for just yourself but you can definitely go for the no perishable things. Pack of 9-12 chicken tenderloins is about 7-9$ depending on the store. I like to eat this with rice and/or sweet potatoes for a healthy dinner. You can add beans, salads or whatever to make it more filling. Oh I posted a specific meal meant for moderately high protein. That is what op was asking about. By all means YES! Eat your greens! I love to buy an assortment of vegetables and cook with them. I’m sure that’s not the only thing that he eats and beans have a good amount of fiber, too. Get a slow cooker. Put cheap meat, potatoes or rice, veggies, spices in it in the morning and eat it in the evening. You can look up recipes or just freestyle it. For other meals eat yogurt, nuts, fruits, honey, oats, eggs, salads, canned tuna, canned sardines, whey protein shakes. If you want to gain weight, have a svunt shake or 3 or 4 pb&j sandwiches with milk before bed. Bags of chicken breast and yogurt are pretty cheap and packed full of protein. Instant oatmeal is a great carb that I still use for pre workout . Rice and boneless, skinless chicken breast. I would cook the chicken every Monday in a crock pot and use the broth from that on the rice. Peanut butter when you need calories and it’s late or you don’t feel like cooking. I stretched $25 a week for a couple years in school and got big Honestly, just don’t shop at any of the little convenience stores on campus. Check grocery ads every week for any good sales. Fry’s (Kroger) where I’m at used to have buy one get two free packs of Fry’s brand chicken breast. See if you can find a local butchers and get chicken breast in bulk and some bulk cheap protein powder. Where I live pork loin is a bit cheaper than chicken breast as well. Basically might be worth travelling a bit more to to buy your veg and meat in bulk. Also you obviously know this already but try keep drinking to a minimum nights out get expensive. Mostly stick to rice or pasta. Boneless, skinless chicken thighs because they taste so much better with only a little more fat that i can easily fit in my diet. Fruit of your choice, but mostly whatever is on sale. Same goes for veggies. Milk, cereal, and frozen breaded chicken strips that have fairly decent macros. Chicken thigh around here is roughly 2.39$-2.99$ per pound. Learn to calculate price per pound OP. It makes it really easy to spot a good deal. I just can’t fathom how my friends shop. They say they got a really good deal for a pack of chuck steak for 9.99$, but when i ask them how many pounds was it, they can’t answer me. They just say it was a lot of pieces which doesn’t mean anything. Those are my staple foods and sometimes ice cream if i feel like it. Very easy to shop on a budget. I also tried eating for 3$(1$ per meal) a day for 1 week and was able to pull it off, but not much variety in the diet and it was very boring, but very doable. I still use a meal plan even living off campus for lunches. Only food I personally buy for my apartment is eggs, chicken, pasta, frozen veggies, cereal and milk. When Im bulking ill eat out most nights.
